30 Before 30

In less than 6 months, I will turn 30.

Yeah, that's right, 30. I don't really care - honestly. I mean, Frank was having a conniption, so I threw him a huge surprise party.

Me? Well, there's just this list of things I'd like to accomplish before Sunday, April 5, 2015. Some of them, I'll admit are slightly out of reach, but hopefully I'll be able to get things together to be closer to achievement than I am today - October 7, 2014.

  1. Hold a plank for at least 60 seconds This ACTUALLY happened 10/15/14. So now we're going to 90 seconds!
This is in progress, I held for 30 seconds on 10/7/14 Held for 60 seconds on 10/15/14!
  2. Complete 10 real burpees, with push-up and jump
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I can do this.
  3. Finish a mile in under 11 minutes.
When I was 12 years old I was admitted, for the first and only time, to the 9-minute-mile club at Willow Glen Middle School. While I acknowledge I am no where near 12 years old anymore, and 11-minute-mile should not be too out of reach
  4. Go Scuba Diving - Complete! 5/28/14 in Olowalu, Maui with my sister, Colleen
  5. Go whale watching in Monterey, preferably with Frank and my folks.
Considering I live just 65 minutes from Monterey, this shouldn't be difficult.
  6. Complete another Whole30 Life Challenge
I completed my first one just before my 29th birthday.
  7. Purchase a house/townhome with Frank
Yeah, this is all up to the Higher Ups, but I'm hoping we'll at least be a lot closer than we are now.
  8. Repair the dent on my car
Over 2 years ago someone hit me while I was on a little trip to LA. I needI to get it fixed.
  9. Learn a 4-strand braid and become efficient in completing it.
I love braids. Even more, I love fun, unique braids. This braid is one of the most challenging I've ever attempted.
  10. Hit $15,000 career sales with The Pampered Chef  Achieved December 12, 2014!
I'm almost there. Just have about $3,000 to go!
  11. Bake a real Yorkshire pudding
As per the name of this blog, I love to bake. Yorkshire pudding is one of the most intimidating things.
  12. Attend church at least once a month
For a good majority of my life, I attended church. Lately I've been feeling as though something is missing.
  13. Entirely give up Diet Coke Done and DONE! This happened sometime around November 2014
    Totally self-explanatory. I've concluded I have a problem.
  14. Successfully cook Beef Wellington
I love Gordon Ramsay. I dined at his restaurant in Las Vegas, GR Steak. I ordered the Beef Wellington. Now I want to cook one myself.
  15. Successfully bone a chicken
Similarly, I love Jaques Pepin. In one of his how-to videos, he bones a chicken. I will do the same!
  16. Successfully jar an entire case of Grandma Lu’s Barbecue Sauce This happened with Momma Lynn and Auntie Donna on November 16, 2014!
Momma Lynn's Mom, Lucille, made the best barbecue sauce this side of the Mississippi. I want to make a giant batch and jar a whole case. Momma Lynn will help me. A date has been set: November 22, 2014
  17. Bend over and touch the ground with my feet together
Honestly. This is not as easy as you might think!
  18. Clean out my closet – for real this time
Frank is always bugging me about all the clothes I have that I never wear. I will get organized and I will get rid of everything!
  19. Write on this blog at least once a week
Cross my heart and hope to die!
  20. Give up the “F-word” for good
This is a big thing. A HUGE thing for me. My office and my home are rampant with this word. It's mostly unattractive in a woman's mouth. I need to give it up.
  21. Organize my Pampered Chef items This has mostly happened. October 2014.
This is a huge thorn in my husband's side. I will get it under control.
  22. Practice “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all” and mean it.
Basically, I just need to stop feeding the gossip monsters in my life.
  23. Hike Mission Peak in Fremont
I've done it once, and it was Hell. I hope to do it again, and have it be, well, less Hell.
  24. Work out at least 3 days a week.
This has gotten much easier since PRIMETIME Martial Arts added Zumba to their fitness offerings!
  25. Maintain my calendars on-time
Another bone of contention with Frank... I always yell at him to look at the calendar, but it's not always updated...
  26. Wear my glasses at least twice a month.
Technically, I shouldn't be wearing contacts. But glasses are such a pain. So I want to get into the habit of wearing them more often.
  27. Wear jewelry to work every weekday.
It's not as though I have this expansive jewelry collection. But Frank has given me a few pieces, and I want to make a better effort to wear them regularly
  28. Wear not jeans once a week.
So, pretty much I want to get into the habit of having "work clothes" and all my other clothes.
  29. Send a snail mail letter/card to someone once a month.
Given my pangs for nostalgia and a time where things were simpler, I want to get back to writing letters.
  30. Be happy with who I am and where I am in life
Should, be easy enough, right? Yeah, sure....
